Little Groot Project Entry #4

Once the second lot of silicone cured I was able to remove the walls and the sculpt, clean the mould and it was ready for resin. I prepped the mould by cutting two sheets of foam board to support both sides of the mould and wrapping the whole thing in quite a few elastic bands. Fast cast resin was poured and rolled around in the mould then left to cure. I had a few issues with air bubbles on the bottom of the left arm; this was solved by cutting a little air pocket which acted as a suction pocked pulling the resin into that area. I ran a couple Groot's and chose the best. I then used a dremel to remove any excess resin and neaten the sculpt. To complete it I painted lowlights and hilights using acrylic paint. As a final touch I added clear nailpolish to the eyes to add a lifelike reflection.
